Q: How far in advance should I book my DJ?
A: You’ll want to book a reputable DJ as soon as you book your ceremony location or venue. DNJ Entertainment books anywhere from six months to two years in advance. If you wait too long, you may be unable to book the DJ or company of your choice and subsequently be forced to use a less than professional DJ.
Q: When will my DJ arrive at my event?
A: DNJ Entertainment will arrive approximately one to two hours prior to your guest arrival time. Advanced arrival is imperative to ensure set up completion and testing prior to your event start at no extra charge.
Q: How do I know if I’m paying too much or too little for a DJ?
A: Pricing is dependent on many factors: The date of the event, including, day of the week, month and season are variable. Furthermore, time-range, equipment required, ceremony coverage and location of your event venue are all factors. Keep in mind that you always get what you pay for. DNJ Entertainment upholds high standards and professionalism while altogether providing appropriate and affordable pricing.
Q: Will the venue or I have to provide anything for the DJ?
A: All that we request is electricity, a dressed table and an 8 foot by 6 foot set-up location.
Q: Will DNJ Entertainment contact me prior to my event to go over details and time lines?
A: Your DNJ team leader will contact you the week of your event to review all of the details of your event and your music selections.
Q: Does the DJ take requests?
A: Yes, but at your discretion. If you’d like us to, we will unless we deem the request inappropriate or if it may not fit the mood. We will ask you before we play any questionable requests. Overall, we will stay within the guidelines that we discuss during our meetings before your event.
Q: Should I feed or tip the DJ at my event?
A: Providing a meal or a tip is up to your discretion. An average 5 hour event becomes an 8 hour day for a DJ with set-up, travel and break down. Most venues offer vendor meals that are more appropriate as it is less expensive than the guests’ meal. If possible, we suggest meal service before or during the same time as your guests. In regards to a tip, the DNJ team is there to entertain and service you the entire event. A gratuity is greatly appreciated, especially if you feel we exceeded your expectations.
Q: Should I be concerned about the quality of the DJ equipment:should I ask what brands or type he uses?
A: DNJ Entertainment uses the best audio & lighting equipment in the industry. Our powered Mackie HD series performance speakersare top in the market for quality and performance!
Q: Will my DJ take breaks?
A: No way! We provide continuous music from the beginning to the end of your event. All of our DJ’s are trained with beat matching / mixing skills to ensure no dead air or fades in between songs which could in turn clear a dance floor! We are there to provide entertainment all night and make your event one to remember.
Q: Will the DJ communicate with my planner and/or event coordinator before my reception?
A: The DNJ Entertainment team leader will coordinate all of your events with your Planner or Banquet Manager prior to your reception. Our team will work with all vendors including but not limited to,your caterer, photographer, videographer and YOU to ensure that your reception runs as smoothly as possible.
Q: Can you assist or help us plan a great event?
A: We have event coordinators on our team that will be happy to assist with planning your event. We can help with managing event timelines, to music selections and event traditions that you may want to include. We will send you the proper guide, music lists, recommendations and more.
Q: Does DNJ Entertainment use banners, signs or contests to promote their company during my event?
A: No. Banners and signs are tacky and may appear in your pictures and can take away from the elegance or theme of your event.
Q: When and how should I pay DNJ Entertainment?
A: For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, personal checks and cash for your deposit. Your deposit is due within 10 days of receiving your contract to lock in your date. You have up to the date of your event to pay your balance in full. Note: Payments on the day of the event must be either in cash, money order or certified bank check. Do you have emergency back-up for your entire music library at every event, just in case?
Will you carry a complete extra back-up DJ system and extra microphone with you to my event in case of equipment failure?
Can your wireless microphones operate at different frequencies, in case of a transmission conflict or frequency interference?
Do you have back-up transportation available as well?
Does your company have other equally qualified DJs available in case of an emergency situation arising on the day of my wedding?
